This is the 'Baby Bear' model of the GI Style anglehead. Yes, it's made in China and it's a filament bulb, but it's actually a pretty decent little light. The switching mechanism is THIN and easily bent, but it's a simple mechanism and you can bend it back if (like one of my customers) you somehow manage to screw it up. Just like the 'Poppa Bear' Anglehead (#688 Made in USA, or #638 Made in China, D-Cell) and the 'Momma Bear' Anglehead (#488 C-Cell) flashlights, this AA battery flashlight comes with a spare bulb and 4 lens filters. The thin 'D' ring allows it to be hung (upside down) and the pocket/strap clip on the back end is sturdy and tight - allowing you to go 'hands-free' by slipping it through MOLLE straps, belt, pocket, or whatever. Bright enough to light the trail in front of you or read a map without creating a blazing beacon in the night. Actually preferable to 'light-the-night' high intensity lamps, in my book. If you are not afraid of the dark, this is the utility light for you. Lightweight and compact, with rubber grommets that SHOULD make it water resistant (though I doubt it is water proof). At about 6.5" x 2.25" x 1.5" and a mere 3.8 oz. (with 2 AA batteries) it's a helpful and handy gadget WELL worth the price!
